What do you mean by “intermediate ADV”?

First, review the different levels of ADV difficulty below. Then, honestly evaluate your level of confidence(low, moderate, high) with each difficulty level. A low level of confidence means that you’re likely to require assistance. A high level of confidence means you guarantee success 9 out of 10 attempts.

Beginner ADV

    • Hardpack up to 30* slope

    • Loose gravel on hardpack

    • Rocks, Sticks, Ledges <4”

    • Shallow sand, gravel, mud

    • Firm, even bedded water <9”

    • Shallow ruts

    • New to ADV

    • Clutch primarily for starting/stopping

    • Uncomfortable standing

    • Practices slow maneuvers in good conditions

    • Static inside the cockpit

Intermediate ADV

    • Short, easy hill climbs requiring momentum

    • Hardpack >30*

    • Gravel combined with slope

    • Rocks, Logs, Ledges 4-8”

    • Deep mud, sand, gravel in flat terrain

    • Loose bedded, slow water <12”

    • Committing ruts

    • Mid slope u-turns

    • Good traction off-camber terrain

    • Comfortable standing but not default

    • Focus on energy conservation

    • Practices slow maneuvers in bad conditions

    • Leverages 2 cockpit dimensions

Advanced ADV

    • Long, rocky hill climbs requiring momentum

    • Rocks, Logs, Ledges >8”

    • Deep mud, sand, gravel on slopes

    • Loose bedded, fast, deep(>12”) water

    • Muddy, snowy, rocky, steep ruts

    • Slippery off-camber terrain

    • 50”/ATV trails in varied terrain

    • Standing default in sub-optimal terrain

    • Capable of 8 hour days in Intermediate terrain

    • Comfortable multi-tasking

    • Leverages 3 cockpit dimensions

    • Safely dabs when appropriate
